  • ​This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • We are looking for a passionate, energetic member of a product engineering team to play a key role in development product capabilities for American Airlines Loyalty and Marketing Organization. You will have an opportunity to work across the product’s layers to deliver features and functionality as part of a highly collaborative, quality-focused team. What you'll do

• Develop new features in an iterative way that collectively form a larger application 
• Modify and enhance existing software to add or change features, while constantly improving the codebase
• Participate in the estimation of work to be done as part of an overall agile process.  Coordinate application implementation and test functionality to ensure specifications are met

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
•    3 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments
•    3 years of professional, design, and open-source experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
•    Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
•    5 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
•    Airline Industry experience

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

•    Experience with Strong backend & exposure to Front end technologies Javascript, CSS, HTML5, Angular 4+
•    Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Cloud Foundry
•    Experience with native Cloud development preferably IBM Bluemix and Azure Cloud
•    Knowledge of multi-threading concepts, TCP/IP, database, and REST based JSON APIs
•    Experience with build and deployment tools: Maven, Git, Junit
•    Experience building and working with DevOps Toolchains (Nexus, Hygieia, SonarQube, Github, Jenkins)
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving skills 
•    Ability to work very closely with a larger development team of differing skillsets 
•    Experience and understanding of test-driven development
•    A deep understanding of automation tools is required to be a DevOps Engineer
•    Experience with the scrum process
