This job is part of the London Heathrow Stores team within the International & Cargo division. You will control the issue and usage of all aircraft parts and provide related support to AA Technical Operations. In addition to daily stock handling, the position also invoves logistics, import/export, and assisting customers/other Airlines with AOG assistance.

 

What you'll do
  • Control the issue and usage of all related aircraft spares and technical support items
  • Maintain the aircraft parts stockroom in accordance with strict Customs/FAA controls
  • Import/export logistics – airwaybill creation, commercial invoices, customs declarations and clearance
  • Handle hazardous/high value shipments (correct packaging, identifying Dangerous Goods for transport in accordance with IATA regulations)
  • Process all documentation and transactions, both manually and in inventory systems
  • Ad-hoc commercial purchasing decisions when required
  • Liaise/organise with other airlines and stations in sourcing and transporting emergency aircraft parts (AOG)
  • Assist other European locations when required
  • Inventory stocktaking, identifying and control of shelf life items
  • Recognize and adapt to changes in procedures and inventory control systems
  • Complete mandated departmental self-audits and be accountable for audit findings

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Good clear oral and written communication skills
  • Physically fit with good color vision to perform stock handling and movement
  • Ability to recognize the unique challenges in working in an airline environment
  • Ability to embrace the team ethic and be prepared to assist and share knowledge
  • Be reliable and punctual.
  • Be proactive in maintaining and improving their skill set
  • Be willing to assume additional responsibility in a temporary position when required
  • Driving licence
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task whilst retaining a positive approach when dealing with AOG and time critical situations
     

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Knowledge of SAP or other warehousing/inventory systems is desirable
  • Evidence of experience in a similar role e.g. the retail sector
