Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Inflight Food & Beverage Quality Assurance Auditor conducts kitchen and ramp audits to ensure contractual compliance with Inflight food and beverage (FAB) policies and procedures. The Food & Beverage QA Auditor solves catering challenges at Alaska, Horizon, and Skywest. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on improving catering performance in assigned locations. Scope & Complexity This individual contributor role supports quality assurance activities for Alaska Airlines (AS) mainline and regional carrier routes. Key Duties - Performs initial and follow-up audits for food and beverage operations to ensure contractual compliance with Inflight food and beverage policies and procedures. - Creates audit reports, assists in creating and implementing recovery plans for failed audits, and monitors the effectiveness of recovery plans. - Provides input into catering operations process, procedures, and key department initiatives. - Works under the direction of the general manager(s) to identify and recommend effective corrective action(s) based on audit findings and performance trends. - Provides real-time coaching and training of kitchen personnel. - Assists with implementation of new menu cycles by meeting inbound flights to gather flight attendants' feedback and observe catering performance. - Participates in FAB on-call scheduling and support, as well as regular staff meetings in Seattle (SEA). Job-Specific Skills, Experience, & Education Required - 1 year experience in large scale, multi-unit food & beverage operations management, including inventory controls, HACCP procedures and production controls. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in food and beverage management or a related discipline, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Demonstrated ability to communicate with auditees in an effective and positive manner. - Strong professional curiosity. - Strong track record working successfully in a team environment and independently with minimal daily supervision. - Frequent travel, as much as 70% of the time. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Strong ability to understand business processes and key controls to mitigate operational and safety risks. - Superior verbal and written communication, problem solving, planning, organizational, and analytical skills. - Experience in quality assurance, internal audit, or internal evaluation programs. - Airline catering and/or food and beverage experience. - Inflight or flight attendant experience.
