Job Description

Job Title:            Senior Procurement Engineer – CAPEX

Reports to:        General Manager Procurement

 

Job purpose:

Coordinating with Facility Development Teams and other business units to handle various projects across Al Futtaim Group within UAE & overseas for new facilities set-up, refurbishments and renovations to maximize the return on investment.

 

Key Accountabilities:

• To develop comprehensive procurement and Contracting plan
• Review the “As Is” process for CAPEX procurement and develop “ To Be ” Process
• Develop procurement guidelines for competitive bids from engineering services, Building Contractors, Architectural services and furniture vendors.
• Develop List of approved consultants along with rate cards for them.
• Implement Procurement Process to prequalify the Vendors / Sub- Contractors for different types of projects across the group.
• Reviewing and evaluating suppliers, vendors or sub-contractor proposals and using effective methods to compare the prices and obtain the details required for the execution of the project at the required time and quality
• Conduct a Techno-Commercial evaluation for the bids in coordination with Facility Development Team from respective businesses.
• Leading the selection process of vendors, suppliers or sub-contractors to ensure maximum operational efficiency at sites and projects vie bid & technical evaluation
• Conduct Vendor Scoring upon which the selection process is carried out
• Coordinating with the materials selection with the Facility Development teams and the project consultant in the preparation and review of required materials specifications within the quotation packages, including general and technical requirements.
• Ensuring that all the technical specifications are properly defined, and the BOQ is complete to avoid Variations during the implementation.
• Initiating/ enquiring/ RFQ packages and preparing, reviewing and finalizing technical and commercial bid analysis
• Reviewing PR to confirm technical and quality requirements.
• Create competitive environment to implement online bidding technology.
• Ensuring RFQ / RFP is floated to all prequalified vendors
• Ensuring the same information is communicated to all vendors equally to ensure fair competition.

 

 

Qualifications, experience, & skills:

• Should have degree in Civil Engineering & minimum 5 years’ experience in the similar post
• Should have extensive knowledge of preparing construction, furniture & fit out tender documents, BOQ , etc
• Should be able to read & understand drawings, technical specification & other related documents.
• Good command over written & oral English to negotiate with vendor.
• Software: MS Office & Autocad.
