This intern is a member of the Corporate Safety Management System (SMS) Team within the Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Division and responsible for providing support to the Manager, Corporate SMS. The intern will play a critical role in driving cross-departmental efforts across a variety of functional areas in pursuit of SMS objectives and compliance, create new technology tools for employees to document the company’s continuous improvement in SMS and focus on ensuring the teams supported across the enterprise are able to leverage the tools provided to meet business objectives.
- Pursuing at least a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related with a focus on SMS or a similar discipline
- Familiarity with Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS), Root Cause Analysis and Human Factors fundamentals
- Understanding of techniques to extract, cleanse and analyze large datasets to identify key trends and insights
- Exposure to data visualization software (Tableau or similar) used to explore and analyze data
- Ability to develop metrics in MS Excel (using pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS formulas, etc.) or other systems
