The Greenkeeper is responsible to -
- Monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
- Maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others.
- Mow turf using tractors, ride-on machines and specialist hand mowers.
- Scarify / groom /verti-cut turf.
- Apply top dressing.
- Repair divots.
- Apply fertiliser / turf conditioner.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Identify and control weeds, pests, turf diseases and disorders.
- Identify grasses on the golf course.
- Move tee markers.
- Mark hazards, out of bounds and ground under repair.
- Aerate turf.
- Maintain bunkers.
- Roll turf.
- Undertake routine machine maintenance.
- Prepare machinery for use and prepare machinery for storage.
- Measure green speed and interpret the results.
- Prepare ground to establish plants on the golf course.
- The rules of golf relating to golf course maintenance.
- Maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others.
- Maintain golf course furniture.
- Drive a tractor with implements.
- Change holes.
- Maintain trees and shrubs on the golf course.
The Greenkeeper will report to the Golf Administrator, however, channels exists for direct communication with the Facilities Supervisor and Sr. Facilities Manager and other member from the senior leadership team at weekly meetings or as and when required.
To be a successful in this role, you should have a secondary school certificate. Additional qualification in Agriculture / Horticulture is an asset. Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience within a facilities management / intergrated facilities management environment in GCC.

The Greenkeeper will have to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, be customer focused and be able to handle multiple and often conflicting priorities. It is essential the incumbent should have excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment. Have the ability to look at situations from several points of view. Delegate responsibilities effectively. Excellent problem analytical skills and problem simulation. Should have a high comfort level working in a diverse environment. Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done. Manage cross-functional relationships effectively. Establish clear lines of communication both internally & externally.
