Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Engineer - Projects team member assists in making decisions related to repairs, alterations & modifications on aircraft using specifications from vendors, manufacture(s), the company and regulations. The Engineer - Projects team member assists in providing technical expertise and support related to task cards, manuals and engineering directives used by mechanics during the repair alterations & modifications of the aircraft. Key Duties - Review and assist with aircraft lease return agreement for redelivery conditions, including physical requirement, records requirements, performance and certification requirements. Establishes the key milestones under the guidance of the Program Manager. - Authors engineering control (EC) documents (e.g., engineering orders, engineering authorizations, fleet campaigns, etc.) to direct the required incorporation of modifications, improvements, and disposition of line troubleshooting and shop requests. In the intermediate level: - Serves as primary point of interface for aircraft lease returns and aircraft acquisitions, coordinating with Engineering, Aircraft Records, Legal, Planning, Quality Control, MRO facility, Technical Pubs, and any other departments for all technical related items - Assist with developing statement of work for aircraft redelivery and modifications. - Review lease return aircraft current status of applicable Airworthiness Directives and maintenance program compliance. Coordinate with subject matter experts for status of Engines, APUs, landing gear overhaul status and modifications/ alterations. Coordinate Engineering Order authorization for any open Airworthiness Directives and/or maintenance program tasks. - Utilizes all available information (e.g., ASA operational data, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineering data, other operators', integrators, vendors and shared information, etc.) to continually improve the safe and efficient operation of the installed (Avionics, Interiors and/or Structures Systems). In the senior level: - Manages and maintains major alterations/modifications & OEM recommendations (e.g., Service Bulletins (SB), Service Letters (SL), etc.) for priority incorporation into the fleet. - Leads "as required" cross-divisional team(s) composed of Records, Planning, Line & Heavy Maintenance, Avionics shop, Quality Control (QC), Flight Ops, Technical Pubs, etc. to ensure released EC documents are implemented efficiently. - Authors AS-specific engineering data for inclusion into the required Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA's) for configuration control and required maintenance actions. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Intermediate Level - 2 years of engineering or related experience. - Avionics, Systems, Interiors and/or Structures experience. - Bachelor of Science with a focus in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or a related discipline degree, or 2 additional years aircraft engineering experience. - Knowledge of FAA regulations and oversight functions (for both aircraft operating airworthiness certificates). - Excellent communication skills: verbal (both informal working teams and formal executive presentations), and in clear, concisely written documents - Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with self-directed decision-making confidence and limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Senior Level - 5 years of engineering or related experience. - Avionics, Systems, Interiors and/or Structures experience. - Bachelor of Science with a focus in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or a related discipline degree, or 2 additional years aircraft engineering experience. - In-depth understanding of the related focus areas (Avionics, Systems, Interiors and/or Structures) Systems of the aircraft. - Knowledge of FAA regulations and oversight functions (for both aircraft operating airworthiness certificates). - Excellent communication skills: verbal (both informal working teams and formal executive presentations), and in clear, concisely written documents. - Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with self-directed decision-making confidence and limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
