Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Instructional Designer III - Compliance Training is a subject matter expert in compliance training design and development for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air employees and select vendors. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in support of the Alaska Airlines' and Horizon Air's commitment to ethics and compliance and provide recommendations to address legal/regulatory requirements. Key Duties - Acts as a subject matter expert in compliance training design and development. - With minimal direction from leadership, exercises considerable judgement to make decisions in instructional design techniques and methodologies to design interactive courseware and other supporting materials for an effective learning experience. - Analyzes instructional needs, defines the course requirements, and makes effective recommendations for actions. - Makes decisions to change courses based on customer feedback and ensures training content and solutions result in satisfactory learning products. - Develops course design documents, learning objectives, course content, scenarios, media scripts, practice activities, and post-tests. - Partners with legal team and various stakeholders in the analysis of compliance requirements to establish training program roadmap. - Administers the learning management system for compliance related trainings, including uploading training content, managing enrollment and surveying users. - Manages communication plan to roll out annual training. - Develops effective tools and processes to track completion of trainings. - Ensures consistent, reliable, and comprehensive training records are maintained. - Makes continuous improvements to the program through stakeholder assessments and awareness of industry best practices, trends, and standards. Compiles survey data and completion results and presents results to Director. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - 4 years of experience in instructional design, training development/delivery, or related area, preferably in ethics and/or compliance. - Bachelor's degree with a focus in business administration, communications, human resources, education, or a related area, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Strong project management and facilitation skills, with demonstrated ability to independently manage projects with broad organizational impact. - Experience with adult learning principles and understanding of diverse learning and thinking styles (e.g., generational, cultural, etc.) - Advanced experience with image/graphic creation and manipulation. Ability to create compelling visual designs for training taking into consideration usability and attractiveness. - Experience with authoring tools, such as Articulate Pro Suite, Lectora, Adobe Acrobat, or PhotoShop. - Experience analyzing instructional needs, defining course requirements, managing a project through the development process, and ensuring instructional integrity. - Highly organized and effective in executing a project in a timely manner. - Ability to work cross-divisionally to accomplish training objectives. - Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple objectives/tasks simultaneously. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Previous experience working with learning management systems such as Cornerstone. - Experience developing company-wide trainings.
