Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary Reporting to the Manager of Vendor Maintenance, the Airframe Vendor Maintenance Representative is the technical liaison between Alaska Airlines (AS) and vendors contracted to perform maintenance on AS fleet, and between AS and manufacturers, leasing companies, and other airlines. Scope and Complexity This individual contributor position administers contracts between Alaska Airlines and vendors for repair work performed on aircraft, engines, or components. This position also monitors work-in-progress to ensure all vendor workmanship is of acceptable quality and that all work is accomplished in accordance within the work scope, in compliance with applicable specifications. Key Duties - Administers contracts between AS and vendors for repair work performed on aircraft, engines, or components. - Liaises on-site between AS and assigned repair agencies for technical matters, delivery schedules, invoice discrepancies, warranty claims, and disposition of AS-owned materials. - Monitors work-in-progress to ensure all vendor workmanship is of acceptable quality and that all work is accomplished in accordance within the work scope, in compliance with applicable specifications. - Maintains accurate records of discrepancies in sufficient detail to support requests for procedural changes and claims for charge adjustments. - Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the maintenance agreements with assigned agencies and audits all invoices to ensure billing is correct and in accordance with applicable terms and conditions. - Maintains an informed status of new developments in repair procedures and preventative actions to preclude maintenance problems. - Recommends changes to maintenance programs and work specifications, based on experience with conditions found in AS equipment undergoing major maintenance. - Partners with the engineering department to ensure required technical information is provided on time and provides feedback regarding conditions found during the course of work accomplished. - Apprises the Manager of Vendor Maintenance of any issues that may impact safety, quality, cost, or schedule of AS aircraft while in vendor maintenance. - Authorizes changes in the work scope, as dictated by changing conditions during maintenance, and communicates proposed changes to relevant teams. - Performs root-cause analysis of significant aircraft discrepant conditions, either present on arrival of aircraft or resulting from work performed during maintenance. - Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - 4 years of heavy maintenance experience. - Airframe and Powerplant license. - Airbus, 737 or larger aircraft maintenance experience. - Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). - Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred - Third party heavy maintenance experience. - Process improvement experience and training. - Trax knowledge. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in a related discipline.
