Taking on each day knowing we're part of something remarkable. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Crew Planning Analyst II is responsible for the planning of short-term crew staffing and allocation plans while ensuring that crew-member schedules are available for bidding in accordance with their respective working agreements and are compliant with all company, FAA, & contract policies & regulations. This position will assist in forecasting crew productivity, reserve demand, and overall staffing requirements to ensure the airline is appropriately staffed and the operation is supported. Key Duties - Apply deep knowledge in analytics to reveal opportunities to improve execution of short- and long-term staffing plans. - Create, publish, and distribute flight crew schedules. - Conduct analysis to better understand cost & productivity opportunities such as crew base or schedule adjustment. - Responsible for analyzing the operational reliability of crew member schedules in order to reduce staffing demand and increase reliability for the operation. - Partner with Finance on the budget build process and quantifying quality of life for crew members - Leverage technology and data to enhance pairing performance, productivity, and sustainability - Use Data to easily tell the ?story? of what happened, and how we use that information to improve. - Develop and implement systems and technology to produce decision support tools that enable leaders and stakeholders to take strategic action in pairing selection, staffing, forecasting, and budgeting. - Researches new data sources and analytical tools to enhance the data-driven business process. - Select best methodologies to approach business problems and contributes to the continuous improvement of the team and stakeholder processes and data life-cycle. - Troubleshoot pairing production issues while partnering with the team to triage, identify root cause, and work with the team on short- and long-term solutions. - Clearly communicate with and respond to crew members, unions, and divisional leadership in a clear professional manner. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required: - 2 years of experience in data analytics or similar field. - Bachelors degree with a focus in a quantitative field (business administration, economic, mathematics, computer science, etc.), or an additional 2 years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, graphs, functions). - Data driven mindset with a proven history of continuous self-development. - Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends. -Excellent communication and presentation skills. Preferred: - Experience with flight crew planning, rostering or tracking software. - Knowledge of pilot and flight attendant contractual provisions for scheduling, bidding, training and pay. - A minimum of 1-year airline experience with strong preference of crew planning or crew scheduling experience. - Understanding of FAA regulations with regard to crew member scheduling.
