Job Title: Media Performance Manager
Reports to: Head of Performance Marketing & Optimisation
Direct Reports: 1
Job Purpose
This position will manage, optimise and support all media strategies and campaigns to maximise ROI and increase efficiencies in overall media performance. This role will have an increased focus on digital media and will is expected to identify and execute online media optimisation strategies and work extensively with external media agencies & media partners to drive performance in support of marketing objectives. The candidate should have strong first-hand knowledge of attribution and media mix modelling measurement and be responsible for research into new opportunities to enable automation, personalisation, and other new AdTech solutions at scale.
Key Accountabilities
Media Planning
- Participate in the development of long-term Digital media strategies with multi-channel execution.
- Participate in building the strategic media marketing plan and work with an external agency to craft a tactical plan to fit the business needs.
- Recommend the best mix of budget allocation, targeting, and tracking between partners.
- Respond to requests from internal stakeholders regarding digital media strategies, YOY changes and impact.
- Become the primary point of contact and media specialist for agencies and internal stakeholders.
Analytics
- Responsible for the platform strategy, execution, performance and reporting of the media campaigns
- Oversee measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports.
- Develop in-depth/custom campaign reports to show campaign success and explain optimisations effectively
- Set sophisticated campaign tracking strategies using tracking software such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio and others
- Create daily, weekly or monthly campaign reports based on overall tracking strategies, customer goals and KPIs
- Leverage channel data and industry developments to identify and execute tests, enhance reporting, and identify key levers and opportunities to implement optimisation to improve performance
Audience Management
- Identify opportunities that will enhance customer communication strategies, increase speed to market, and create operational efficiencies.
- Utilise data to create, optimise and manage segments for media and site personalisation to drive business objectives
- Provide a series of documented recommendations, which are specific and applicable to short-term and long-term goals
- Work with the agency network to implement dynamic delivery strategy through multiple data touchpoints.
- Develop and highlight key remarketing audiences based on the combination of website and 1st party data.
Media Optimisation
- Proactively working with agency partners and brands on campaign set-up and optimisation strategy.
- Develop and execute A/B, MVT and other tests scenarios to improve user experience and conversions rates.
- Analyse, receive and interpret results via multi-touch attribution, market tests, controlled experiments, and ad hoc analyses
- Identify optimisation opportunities for digital campaigns (including search marketing (SEO/SEM), targeted display/ video, retargeting, and mobile optimisations.)
- Optimise Media to Reduce CPL & overall CPS and improve key web metrics such as bounce rates, time on site and increased pages per visit.
Job Context
The incumbent will need to actively engage with the respective brands, agencies and divisions to ensure alignment of their digital media strategies/roadmaps and work extremely closely to ensure synergies are optimised. Other key stakeholder’s that the incumbent will liaise with will include; Software Vendors, External Consultants & the Marketing Agency Network.
Qualifications, experience, & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field ideally higher qualifications
- Working knowledge of Digital Media, Marketing and Social Media, best practices and market trends.
- 8+ years media-specific experience, with at least 5 years in Digital Media
Job-Specific Skills:
- Expert in Media, especially digital media and performance
- Experience in increase marketing and media effectiveness that improve ROI
- Understanding of the media landscapes (DMP’s, exchanges, programmatic buying, etc)
- Strong Relationship skills (as will be required to interact with different internal business units)
- Experienced in using A/B and multi-variant testing technologies (ie. Optimize 360, Optimizely, Insider etc)
- A good understanding of the GA360 Suite and its synergies within the Google stack would be an advantage
- Experience in running various tests and analysis to determine key areas of improvements
- Project Management - Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding and experience on how to use user behaviour monitoring data & user behaviour capture platforms (heat-mapping, live user testing, surveys, etc).
