Connecting people through technology. **Role Summary** The Managing Director, Product Management and Software Engineering directs a globally distributed team responsible for delivery of multiple strategic product roadmaps and mission critical technology products for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This senior leadership role will establish long-term technology strategy for multiple business units that will deliver significant business value in the form of cost reduction, revenue generation, increase in guest and employee experience. This Managing Director leads a technology department which includes product management, software engineering, product design and portfolio management functions. The leader will work with multiple business units including Flight Operations, Inflight, Maintenance & Engineering, Airport Operations, Cargo, Call Centers and Safety for both Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air. **Key Duties** + Develops and executes multi-year strategy and technology roadmaps for all the business units that they partner with. + Partners closely with business unit leaders and assists in setting priorities and placing realistic expectations on the scope and delivery of technology products. + Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and functions. + Works with business partners to explore and develop cost effective process and technology solutions which deliver the desired results. + Oversees the coordination and implementation of numerous, concurrent and highly visible products supporting both business and technology needs + Influences across company and provides recommendations to enterprise leaders in order to define the vision, goals, and strategies that will enable AAG to excel as an innovator in the travel industry + Partners with the technology leadership team to develop and oversee implementation of technical and organizational strategies. + Shapes culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors + Ensures resources are matched with product delivery and product sustaining needs. + Builds and maintains a strong relationship with strategic vendor partners. + Manages a team based in multiple onshore and offshore locations. + Owns and manages the technology department budget. **Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills** **Required** + A minimum 10 years of experience in information technology with progressively larger scopes of responsibility. + 5 years of people leadership experience. + Bachelor’s degree with a focus in or, willingness to attain a Bachelor’s degree within six years of start date + Knowledge and understanding of product-based delivery, agile, and automation at scale (i.e., DEVOPS). + Expertise in all aspects of running a technology group, including product management, software development, portfolio management and product support. + Experience building multi-year technology strategy that delivers significant business value while lowering technology costs. + Deep understanding of all aspects of delivering technology solutions through globally sourced, multi-vendor model. + Proactive leader with a demonstrated ability to oversee a portfolio of complex and transformative technology products. + Experience with the life cycle of outsourcing back office technology to third party vendors. + Extensive experience effectively partnering with business leaders and affecting business results through technology implementation. + Ability to cut through complexity and ambiguity, prioritize effectively, set clear goals, and operate in an agile fashion. + Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams that improve systems reliability, security, scalability, and flexibility. + Ability to lead and inspire technology leaders and their teams to achieve their fullest potential. + Demonstrated ability to develop a culture of superior customer service. + Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. + Minimum age of 18. + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. **Total Rewards** + Competitive total rewards package + Medical, dental and vision benefits + 401k match program + Monthly incentive pay plan + Annual incentive pay + Equity grants + Generous paid time off and maternity / child-bonding leave + Unlimited confirmed travel privileges on Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air + Lounge membership **Job-Specific Leadership Expectations** + Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. + Strong cross-divisional team leader who drives excellence, develops, mentors, and coaches others, and can create excitement around a compelling technology vision in a collaborative, team-oriented fashion. + Inspirational leader who will promote the Alaska values, act with a high sense of urgency, and have unquestionable integrity. **Equal Employment Opportunity** Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are equal opportunity employers.
