Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Paralegal provides a broad spectrum of legal support with a primary focus on general litigation assistance and ethics and compliance matters. Responsibilities include serving as the focal point for intake and monitor of internal investigations, accepting service of legal documents, drafting and issuing document preservation notices, and managing discovery activities for the Legal Department?s labor and employment and litigation attorneys. Key Duties - Provides litigation support for labor and employment matters and commercial disputes, including accepting service of legal documents, drafting and issuing document preservation notices, and serving as focal point for all discovery activities. - In-takes, analyzes, and responds to information requests and subpoenas, wage and hour claims, and small claims matters. - Serves as administrator of hotline case management system and monitors investigations through completion. - Processes internal data request forms related to investigations. - Maintains dockets, project reports, and the litigation database to track case status for routine discovery, requests for information, EEOC, or other actions from state or federal agencies. - Liaises between outside counsel and Human Resources to obtain U.S. work credentials for non-immigrant workers or prospective foreign national employees. - Leverages proficiency with Lexis or Westlaw to perform research assignments of a legal or fact-finding nature. - Serves as the primary contact for Payroll and Human Resources with respect to writs of garnishment, continuing liens, bankruptcies, and child support orders. - Supports ethics and compliance initiatives across the enterprise, including training programs and activities. - Coordinates with and assists other paralegals and legal coordinators, as needed. - Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Skills Required - A minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate environment. - Bachelors degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - A paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program. In lieu of paralegal experience and certificate, inactive attorneys will also be considered. - Resourceful and capable of working independently, prioritizing work, and demonstrates strong discernment skills in using discretion when working with confidential information. - Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, particularly senior leadership. - Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to various work styles, risk and change in direction of projects and strategies in high pressure situations that require sound decision making. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), as well as FileMaker Pro. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Experience working in labor and employment law, commercial litigation or supporting compliance functions. - Strong knowledge in electronic discovery rules, procedures and systems. - Experience with administering a case management system or conducting internal investigations. - General knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and state statutes governing discovery.
