Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Senior Financial Analyst acts as a subject matter expert in Treasury analytics and business support for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This individual contributor role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions for long-term Treasury and Finance strategy, including supporting the execution of the company?s fleet plan and capital allocation and hedging policies. This role provides recommendations to address a wide variety of critical Finance, Fleet, and Treasury-related subjects and projects. This role requires an inquisitive self-starter with a strong financial background, attention to detail, and ability to work and communicate with all levels of the company, including senior executives. Key Duties - Apply deep knowledge in financial analysis to provide modeling and business support with respect to ROIC, fleet planning, capital structure, capital spending, cash forecasting, fuel hedging, financing, credit/financial metrics, return of capital to shareholders, and other Treasury matters. - Proactively monitor airline industry financial condition and credit events/trends and identify and clearly communicate strategic financial opportunities for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. - Administer portfolio of $4B aircraft debt, 80+ operating leases, and credit facilities - Conduct analysis to support financing activities, including cash flow forecast modeling, economic analysis and negotiation of new loan/lease agreements, and evaluating alternative sources of funding. - Execute the company?s fuel and interest rate hedging programs, including contract administration, placing trades, program reporting, evaluating financial derivative instruments, analysis of strategic direction, and working with external hedging counterparties. Includes involvement in negotiation of hedging contracts and compliance with Dodd-Frank. - Develop and manager Treasury-related budgets, tracking performance and effectively communicating key drivers to internal stakeholders. - Influence cross-functionally and partner with Network Planning, Legal, Accounting/Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, FP&A, and M&E on cross divisional projects, including executive and board level projects and presentations. - Cultivate relationships with external customers/partners including aircraft manufacturers, worldwide banking and leasing partners, capital providers, and rating agencies. - Represent Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air at industry conferences and other external events. - Perform ad-hoc analyses and duties as assigned. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - 4 years of experience working with analytics and/or business intelligence in Treasury, Finance, or related discipline. - A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, or accounting, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Knowledge of accounting, finance, and investing fundamentals. - Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, particularly related to financial modeling. - Strong organizational skills; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities. - Ability to understand and breakdown complex ideas to support decision making. - Ability to work in both a team environment and independently with limited supervision. - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - A Master?s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, or related field.
