  • ​This job is a member of the Drug and Alcohol Team within the People/HR Division.
  • Responsible for coordinating various aspects of the company drug and alcohol program. 
  • This job will also interface with various drug collection contractors throughout the United States and company collection sites in the hubs.
What you'll do
  • ​Manages process required under federal regulations to request drug and alcohol records from previous employers (coordinates obtaining records from other employers and ensures applicants/employees answer all appropriate questions)
  • Manages drug and alcohol results and pre-employment requirements to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Ensures employees in Federal Aviation Act (FAA) safety-sensitive positions complete proper paper work and get added to the eligibility pool for random drug and alcohol testing
  • Acts as a resource to managers throughout the system regarding drug and alcohol testing policies and the federal regulations
  • Performs audits on newly hired safety-sensitive employees to ensure compliance with federal regulations and company policy
  • Creates and updates drug and alcohol forms
  • Updates drug and alcohol policies and contact information on the Wings website
  • Manages drug and alcohol training program for all HR managers and recruiters, (conducts training and ensures employees go through training as appropriate)
  • Acts as liaison with the drug testing laboratory, corporate medical clinic and Medical Review Officer
  • Prepares notifications to affected employees regarding the requirements for testing
  • Maintains records of current qualifications and re-qualifications of the drug and alcohol collectors as mandated by the DOT and the FAA
  • Maintains an accurate record keeping system of all tests and results
  • Coordinates the payment of invoices and follows up with vendors
  • Prepares statistical reports
  • Maintains record retention in accordance with federal guidelines
  • Tracks drug and alcohol supplies, processes orders for new supplies, and tracks department costs versus budget
  • Coordinates scheduling between the clinic and Recruiting department
  • Conducts drug and alcohol collections; reviews test results
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 2 years experience working with federal regulations, preferably with in-depth knowledge of drug and alcohol issues and inspection process
  • Experience with spreadsheets and report preparation
  • Experience with data input

  • ​Airline experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of airline job descriptions and duties to identify FAA covered functions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee information
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
