The Brand Protection Specialist/Senior Specialist is part of a dynamic and collaborative team that plays a critical role in ensuring American Airlines is protected from brand damaging media crises played out on social channels across the web.The right person for this job will lead the management of a wide range of projects that impact the reputation of American and support decisions across the business. They will primarily be responsible for project-based assignments in a fast-paced, high-profile, high-volume environment that require a mix of strong analytical skills, the aptitude to solve complex problems and the ability to clearly and concisely present information for all levels of management. 

What you'll do
  • Provide detailed analytics on all things social media including volume, trending topics and sensitive media issues
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business goals and KPIs and develop strategies to support goals
  • Act as the product owner of SNAP, Brand Protection’s listening and response tool, which includes participation in daily stand-ups, iteration planning sessions, story development, user acceptance testing and deployments
  • Complete strategic ad hoc requests and projects
  • Work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of airline experience in social media and analytics

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience using data retrieval and visualization methods such as SQL, Tableau and Cognos
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Power Platform 
  • Experience applying the Agile Project Management methodology

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively create reports that articulate insights and recommended actions 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Highly collaborative; skilled at working cross-functionally to drive results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, in particular, Excel and Power BI
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities/projects on strict deadlines with minimal supervision/direction
  • Flexibility to ensure effective management of media crises
