If you share our passion for creating an airline people love, we want to hear from you. **Role Summary** The Vice President, Inflight sets the long-term divisional strategy and oversees the financial and operational performance of Inflight at Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction to a team of senior leaders across the Inflight division. This is a high impact role where leading and inspiring a remote workforce of Flight Attendants is as important as ensuring the daily activities of safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role has overall responsibility for regulatory and compliance programs related to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) oversight and compliance as it relates to inflight, carry-on baggage, exit row seating, passenger handling and flight attendant training. This role is also responsible for administering and certifying competence checks and the Initial Operating Experience (IOE) and will become flight attendant qualified through initial and recurrent training. **Key Duties** + Sets long-term divisional vision and strategy and owns the financial performance for the Inflight division. + Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning within the division. + Drives the performance of the Inflight division, with a focus on delivering the highest levels of safety, on-time performance, guest satisfaction, and productivity. + Develops processes and systems to ensure Flight Attendants understand and deliver hospitality to guests consistently. + Creates strong, honest, and trusting relationships with front-line employees and union leaders. + Responsible for FAA oversight and compliance as it relates to Inflight operations and ensure a productive and transparent relationship with the FAA. + Shapes an organizational culture that thrives on a continuous improvement mindset and raises the bar on itself constantly. + Provides a structure for financial planning and reporting that allows the division to perform and achieve its targets. + Partners with enterprise leaders in Marketing, Airport Operations, Planning, Flight Operations, Maintenance, and S.O.C to drive results for operational function and effectiveness. + Provides oversight of project management, process/policy development, technology solutions, employee training development & delivery and leadership programs for the division **Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills** **Required** + 15 years of progressive experience, including at least 5 years working in a highly regulated industry. + Experience at an airline or similar company with some time managing a frontline workforce and/or remote work groups. + 7 years of people leadership experience. + A Bachelor’s degree or a willingness to attain a Bachelor’s degree within six years of start date. + In-depth knowledge of Inflight operations. + Ability to hold an FAA certificate and remain flight attendant qualified through initial and recurrent training. + Track record of working in a productive, safe, and collaborative manner. + Demonstrated ability to influence change and initiate actions that have strategic impact and drive a high-performance culture. + Visible and approachable leader who is naturally curious and confident without being arrogant. + Demonstrate a natural ease in breaking down complex concepts and ideas into more manageable tasks and goals. + Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and proven success driving measurable results to enhance both customer and employee satisfaction. + Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of groups while addressing people with honesty, courage, and candor. + Passion for customer service and a focus on making Alaska Airlines the easiest airline to fly. + Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety, and security compliance. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Minimum age of 18. + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. **Job-Specific Leadership Expectations** + Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. + Sound strategic thinker with a track record demonstrating good judgement, strong business acumen, and executing plans with a sense of urgency and a mind for strategy. + Fosters a culture of engagement, holds self and others accountable through trust and authentic relationships. + Active listener who values diverse perspectives and fosters an inclusive environment. + Innovative, apolitical, resilient, fact-based, and collaborative, with the ability to thrive in a rapidly-changing environment while also managing conflict. + High energy, positive, influence, and motivational skills. + Exceptional integrity with impeccable ethics in safety and compliance. **Total Rewards** + Competitive total rewards package + Medical, dental and vision benefits + 401k match program + Monthly incentive pay plan + Annual incentive pay + Equity grants + Generous paid time off and maternity / child-bonding leave + Unlimited confirmed travel privileges on Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air + Lounge membership **FLSA Status** Exempt **Employment Type** Full-Time **Regular/Temporary** Regular **Equal Employment Opportunity** Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are equal opportunity employers.
