This job is a member of the Digital Platform & User Experience (UX) team within IT.

Manages the design system program by maintaining, aligning and advocating the User Interface (UI) visual and interaction design across our digital platforms.

What you'll do

  • Translate customer and business needs into actionable and strong designs that will deliver an exceptional product to our customers
  • Collaborate with teams to maintain our design system for consistency, coherence and speed to market of our products
  • Improve and approve design components through reviews and alignment to established patterns and standards that will reside in our design system
  • Propose design components additions or features to the library of components
  • Work with all product teams to establish strategy for stabilizing consistency across projects and devices
  • Facilitate regular team planning sessions for designs
  • Participate in the planning around growing a design system
  • Learn new technologies, improve and optimize on existing technologies
  • Maintain design libraries and artifacts, such as sketch library files, GIT workflow
  • Write and review technical documentation for design components and user interaction
  • Create user centric design solutions that align with digital strategy and company goals
  • Recommend and incorporate design improvements from usability and research findings into design
  • Enforce accessibility best practices and uphold WCAG 2.0 AA standards for designs
All you'll need for success
  • Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Systems or other related discipline, or equivalent experience
    • 3 years of experience in web-based, front-end user interface design on high-profile websites
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Full stack UX Engineer with HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge, who can promote standards and accessibility best practices
    • E-commerce and/or airline industry experience
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications
    • Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
    • Experience working on enterprise design systems
    • Knowledge of responsive, adaptive and accessible design
    • Understanding of components and patterns of a design system and how each design choice is able to scale
    • Ability to express design principles and generate consensus over the vision
    • Experience with iPhone/Android app design
    • Well organized, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices and most importantly, innovate through any problem with a can-do attitude
