What you'll do

  • Responsible for leading the Accounts Receivable Department within Revenue Accounting, including invoicing, payment application, credit, collections, general ledger reconciliations, month-end accounting, management reporting, financial analysis, and ERP system management
  • Oversees the compilations of financial data to ensure the proper accounting treatment of revenue and revenue-related transactions in accordance with GAAP, SEC and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Develops and implements appropriate procedures and automation to support processing a large volume of transactions in a complete, accurate and cost-effective manner. 
  • Work closely with internal IT support and Vendors as needed for system maintenance configuration and development.
  • Negotiates cost-effective contracts and maintains relationships with multiple vendors
  • Monitors company accounts receivable balances and aging to ensure security of company assets, compliance with major credit agreements and reduction of bad debt
  • Monitors invoicing, payments and accounting related to non-transportation invoices, such as co-brand card payments, employee receivables, collections agencies and the Airline Clearing House (ACH) and International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  • Monitors inward invoicing settled through ACH and IATA
  • Leads the Company's Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) program, including card issuance, customer relations, invoicing, payments, accounting, relationship management, technical changes and settlement with other carriers
  • Maintains consistent communication with director and other team members
  • Maintains the Company's collection and credit policy

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 6 years related work experience with at least 2 years experience in Accounts Receivable or Revenue Accounting
  • 3 years leadership experience
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley Act and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) requirements impacting accounting and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Proficient with SAP/ERP software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong accounting background with GL experience 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Leadership experience with a large team

  • Working knowledge of mainframe accounting/reporting systems

  • Advanced excel skills experience writing Macros and using VBA lookups

  • Business data analysis experience working with large data sets including the ability to manipulate, analyze, interpret and report on data
