  • ​This job is a member of the Emergency Response Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • ​Responsible for the deployment, development, and continued improvement of the corporate emergency response plan including facilitating CARE Team deployment to assist passengers and team members. In the event of an aircraft accident/incident, or an isolated event involving American Airlines or American Eagle, this job will also be responsible for handling, processing and protecting confidential data while representing the Company and department in a professional and ethical manner.

What you'll do

  • Maintains overall Company –wide corporate Emergency Response Plan
  • Works collaboratively with departments throughout American Airlines to develop and deliver high quality, emergency response plans, while maintaining corporate consistency and ensuring appropriate processes and procedures are in place to support the plan
  • Develops and facilitates AA corporate and Regional Partner emergency exercises
  • Oversees EP&R training programs, including: Deployable CARE Team, CARE Station Support, Station Leadership, Executive Liaison, and Reservations CARE Team
  • Develops, maintains, and updates curriculum, course materials, facilitator's guides, and training booklets for Emergency response training
  • Facilitates initial, recurrent, and train the trainer training classes
  • Develops and maintains departmental and corporate manuals including Emergency Response Manual (ERM), Local Station Emergency Response Plan (LSEP), Departmental Resource Guides (DRG), and IOC Policies & Procedures Manual (IOCPPM)
  • Facilitate collaboration with stations, first responders, hospitals, and other local or government agencies involved in an accident or incident
  • Coordinates with AA IT and external vendors for implementation, development, and training of applicable emergency response management automation
  • Attend industry task force meetings and working groups such as IATA, oneworld, NTSB and vendor events
  • Coordinates and facilitates Summits and Air Carrier collaboration meetings
  • Participates in EP&R On-call 24/7 rotation

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience / training
  • 3 years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Prior CARE Team and/or emergency planning experience
  • Bilingual
  • 3 - 5 years prior Leadership experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skills in facilitation and formal presentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as well as domestic or international travel for an extended period of time
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees within the organization from front-line employees to senior leadership
  • Ability to lead and manage during crisis situations
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and complete projects on time
