This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.  The Customer Notifications Product Owner will be expanding the operation and development of a large portfolio of customer-facing communications. Every day, our systems create and deliver large-scale semi-custom messages related to customer transactions and their individual flight experience, automated and tailored to real-time events and customer data.

The PO will use Agile methodologies to leverage technical and project management expertise to implement new systems behavior or customer-facing features in pursuit of desired key results.

  • Manage the development and implementation of new products/enhancements, including evaluation, scoping and execution.
  • Work closely with IT counterparts to define requirements and resolve issues while ensuring business objectives are being achieved.
  • Work with other business units to translate their requirements and needs into requirements and user stories.
  • Provide briefings/updates on projects – communicate risks, analyze impacts, and make recommendations for requirements changes to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ownership and advocacy for assigned products across the entire life cycle and roadmap.
  • Analyze and interpret data to provide sound commercial observations and recommendations.
  • Define, create, and own a backlog of user stories, including release backlog management.
  • Work with the User Experience team to manage deliverables and ensure cohesiveness between business requirements and design/usability standards.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Communications or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • Two years’ experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, product owner or manager implementing significant new features or system behavior.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience with selecting and implementing 3rd party software development kits to enhance app offerings and tools
  • Experience using Agile and other SDLC techniques to develop and deliver software
  • Experience working in a product model, focused on outcomes to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Notifications and travel/airline experience

  • Ability to quickly learn the context, details and priorities of business needs and projects, and engage in related brainstorming, technical discussion, questioning and problem-solving.
  • Emphasis on interpersonal skills that create an environment of trust and encourage partnership within the team and across product teams
  • Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to find errors, mistakes or easily-misunderstood language or data in our notifications content before it gets out to our customers.
  • Comfort with speaking up in meetings, making informal presentation
