  • ​This job is a member of the Finance Team within the Finance Division.
  • ​Responsible for executing strategies to minimize inventories within operational constraints and minimize fuel expense through strategic use of inventory, exchanges, and pipeline assets.

What you'll do

  • All job duties revolve around bulk pipeline/marine vessel/trucking supply chains and volumes, relating to approximately 70% of all fuel consumed by American Airlines globally
  • Manage inventory required for bulk shipments, moving inventory from off-airport to on-airport
  • Maintain a close working relationship with airport operators as you manage inventory levels, fuel sales and purchases
  • Understand issues of pipeline allocation, storage, and off-airport supply
  • Manage supply issues and prevent fuel outages
  • Accurately forecast demand/nominate volumes to suppliers/vendors in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate and manage contracts related to self-supply
  • Develop, coordinate and investigate alternative supply arrangements for into pipeline, into storage and via marine vessels
  • Manage supply security issues and recommend improvements or concerns

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience in detail oriented position with direct experience scheduling pipelines under a high financial/operational risk environment
  • Working knowledge of bulk fuel supply chains, including common carrier and sole proprietary pipelines, port and marine vessel deliveries

  • Proficient and a strong comfort level in Excel,skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
