As the Sr. Manager of the Operation Strategy Alignment team, you will have a critical role in collaborating with key stakeholders across Operations as well as partnering with customer experience, finance, and technology to bring alignment to our Operations’ priorities, support our technology strategy, and ensure we work together to achieve Operations’ key initiatives and goals. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for directly and indirectly leading people and teams, coordinating on Operations’ portfolio of key efforts, providing guidance and support to reach agreement on key initiatives, identifying and framing issues, driving decisions across the organization, and monitoring/evaluating new opportunities.

What you'll do

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic thought leadership in support of the broader goals, identify decisions that need to be made and drive towards execution
  • Synthesize business problems, identify strategic options, define outcomes and gain consensus among senior leadership on key Operations’ initiatives
  • Connect the vision with the tangible pieces that enable its fulfillment
  • Enable teams and leaders to connect the dots between the various initiatives with the larger plan
  • Be the link between business and IT teams across organizations to bring about consistency and synergies on technology in use and in development
  • Ensure clarity of business requirements from stakeholders to enable proper planning and design of new initiatives
  • Communicate horizontally and vertically to drive and recommend key outcomes to all levels of leadership
  • Synthesize business problems, identify strategic options, define outcomes and gain consensus among senior leadership on key Operations’ initiatives
  • Uphold inclusive leadership values, develop and care for the team, provide positive impact on culture at American Airlines and ensure a one team mentality

All you'll need for success

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 5-7 years professional experience with at least three years finance, technology, operations or consulting experience
  • Proven success collaborating across a wide variety of cross functional teams and initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability and willingness to travel Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Previous portfolio management experience with ability to lead, organize, and prioritize projects
