About the Role
Accountable for the End-to-End lifecycle of the AFG Digital Fabric comprising of its technical components across Network, Identity, Security, and their related governance controls, including cost management, architectural excellence, and delivery acceleration. Aligned to defined business service levels and IT strategy.
About the Responsibility
Fabric Design & Delivery
- Accountable for Digital Fabric projects delivery and implementing change in the Information technology landscape.
- Contribute to creation of Scope of Work for projects and manage technical delivery as per scope.
- Accountable for preparing appropriate, up-to-date documentation for efficient operations of the Fabric by the Digital Fabric team and any supporting, consuming and partnering team.
- Accountable for delivery of technology components for business initiatives managed by EIT PMO and RFC’s pertaining to the Digital Fabric components and platforms.
- Assess and analyze requirements, evaluate alternative solutions, build solution approach paper and provide recommendations.
Fabric Operational Management
- Responsible for overall availability, performance and business continuity of the Digital Fabric platforms and services.
- Available capacity of systems to be maintained for predictive growth and new business requirements.
- Ensure systems are secured with latest security updates and patches
- Participate in Audit/InfoSec initiatives and implement recommended practises within agreed timeline.
- Accountable for systems support service in respective domain and align service delivery with defined SLAs.
- Implement proactive measures to reduce unplanned downtime and data loss.
Workload Governance Management
- Accountable for the continuous design and implementation of the Fabric Governance across Security, Identity, Cost Management, Architectural Excellence and Delivery Automation and Acceleration.
- Accountable for the compliance of Fabric components to the in-place Cloud Governance Controls. And early compliance to new controls once approved.
- Accountable for the design and implementation of remediation plans to governance compliance drifts of Fabric components.
- As a member of the EIT Governance Committee, share the Fabric team insights, requirements and sponsor the required investments and change requests to modernize and optimize the Digital Fabric.
Operations Modernization
- Accountable for the Continuous implementation of Automation, DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices to modernize the operations of the Digital Fabric components and governance controls.
Fabric Continuous Improvement
- Accountable for the continuous exploitation of Cloud technology and capability innovations/improvements; through adequate optimizations, modernizations, and enhancements to the Digital Fabric components and controls.
Accountable for the continuous implementation of the Technical backlog of the Fabric roadmap to ensure its continuous improvements.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a lean, skilled and fully engaged team; coach, develop and motivate them to achieve set objectives and deliver maximum contribution
- Establish clear objectives, roles and accountabilities of the team
- Promote and support your talent within EIT
Internationalisation
- Drive the standardization of the IT solutions standards across the regions and support integration of international IT teams.
Maintenance Contracts & Vendor Management
- Establish strong relationship with Vendors and Service providers
- Ensure technical delivery for projects as per agreed scope of work.
- Conduct periodic service review meeting with vendors during projects
- Liaise with vendor to deliver documentation as per AFG standards
- Ensure all critical systems’ support contracts are renewed in coordination with procurement team.
- Periodic service review meeting with major vendors and improve service delivery.
- Conduct health check of core systems and implement remedial actions in line with support agreement
- Maintain vendor escalation matrix and manage escalations for critical incidents.
Other Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to improving EIT service delivery in coordination with other horizontal teams.
- Identification and mitigation of IT risks and issues.
About the Requirements
Education: A degree in Computing, Telecommunication or related discipline.
Minimum Experience and Knowledge:
- 10 years of relevant experience in managing IT Operations in large organizations
- Experience in a similar role, leading a cloud (ideally Azure) infrastructure development team
- Knowledge of ITIL practices
Job-Specific Skills:
- Expertise in managing enterprise class servers, storage, backup, network and telecom infrastructure.
