  • ​This job is part of the Agency Programs & Strategy Team within the Global Sales organization. Agency Programs & Strategy is responsible for crafting and implementing strategies that create competitive advantage within American's travel agency channels. We use experimentation, learning and data-led decisions to advance the way American's program strategies are implemented and expand the dimensions on which they can compete. 
  • This position will optimize agency program strategies, models and processes to unlock new revenues and ensure profitable economics with a focus on speed to market and ease of doing business for both internal and external customers. Responsible for managing all aspects of travel agency incentive deal analysis, creation, evaluation, delivery, execution and performance optimization

What you'll do

  • Works in conjunction with Sales and Distribution Leadership, Revenue Management/Revenue Analysis, Finance, Legal, Account Managers and JB partners to design and implement industry-leading incentive strategies & programs within specified budgets
  • Quantitatively analyzes account, market and industry performance to implement upfront commissions, performance-based programs, and unconventional or tactical promotions to optimize performance of American’s most important channels
  • Supports Sales Account Managers in their ongoing dealings with our Travel Agency partners in terms of contracts, data, reporting and innovative solutions to complex product, network and competitive opportunities
  • Project manages, analyzes, drives stakeholder buy-in, and implements strategic initiatives that drive American’s company objectives forward with a focus on data-led decisions, speed to market and ease of doing business in the channel space

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3-4 years airline experience in Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, IT, Finance, and Loyalty or experience in Business Development, Strategy, Corporate Development, and Consulting 
  • Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • MBA Preferred
  • ​Prior experience in Sales, Reservations, Revenue Management or Travel Agency

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret data and implement strategies that will maximize performance and revenue/profitability
  • Ability to drive consensus among customers, internal stakeholders, and other partners that represents a win for all parties
  • Ability to pull, manipulate, and report on large data sets
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of effectively working with people of varying backgrounds, skill levels and management levels, and of securing inter- and intra-departmental cooperation
  • Ability to concisely present summaries of problems, scope of analyses and recommended solutions – in both oral and written formats
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately under deadlines
