The candidate selected for this engineering role will be part of the Employee Travel IT team within Corporate Technology. You will be responsible for leveraging technology to solve business problems by participating in all phases of the development process, from inception through transition. You will advocate for agility and use object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test maintainable and reusable code.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with leaders, analysts, IT architects, technical leads, and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop applications to meet to business requirements
  • Learn about and implement new technologies to build new features and improve application performance and security posture
  • Maintain and enhance existing multi-client services, applications, and platforms using domain-driven design and test-driven development
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions
  • Contribute to new work specifications and estimates
  • Support the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines
  • Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions align with long-term enterprise and industry growth forecasts
     

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Airline Industry experience
  • Open-source project design, development, and repository maintenance experience
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging by audience, including non-technical groups
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass, LESS, etc.), ES6 and Typescript
  • Other tools: Jenkins, Coverity, Azure DevOps, Rally

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficiency in Full Stack Development
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles
  • Proficiency in mobile-aware/responsive and cross-browser compatible application development
  • Demonstrated experience in the following technologies: 
    • J2EE technologies: Java, JSP, JDBC
    • Database and persistence frameworks: Hibernate, Object/Relational Mapping, Query performance tuning, PostgreSQL
    • Web Services: REST/SOAP (JSON/WSDL/XML)
    • Frameworks: Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Bootstrap
    • Front-end: Angular JS, Angulare 10+, CSS, AJAX
    • Version control/ test/build tools: Git/Github, JUnit, Mockito, Maven
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM or Kaban
  • Understanding DevOps Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices
