What you'll do
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
• Maximize corporate selling strategy with the Manager Corporate Sales
• Act as primary point of contact as American Airlines and Japan Airlines, leverage market share against competitors and their Joint Business
• With Japan Airlines, collaborate to develop PJB corporate sales strategy and engagement plans represented in strategic account plans to grow revenue and PJB market share
• Drive incremental revenue for the PJB by taking an advisory approach to Japan Airlines for the corporate and travel management company (TMC) portfolio; the corporate and travel management company (TMC) portfolio includes but is not limited to corporate, group, government, SME, new business & the Japan offices of global, regional & local TMCs
• Handle designated accounts to leverage PJB revenue based on strategic deployment and account plan aligned with Japan Airlines
• Shadow sales associates of Japan Airlines for respective accounts JL handles on behalf of American Airlines
• Leverage business relationship with TMC to prospect potential corporate accounts for SME or corporate contracting on behalf of PJB
• Strategize not only peak period but contingency to maximize revenue contribution
• Achieve designated number of annual corporate contracting for PJB
• Leverage market intelligence of tour & travel out of Asia Pacific to MCLA
• Manage and maintain comprehensive customer database in SalesHub
• Familiarize sales operation of Japan Airlines for daily smooth sales operation
• Leverage business volume and market share in designated secondary city with respective business branch of Japan Airlines
• Communicate with Asia Pacific division corporate account issues and concerns to HDQ Strategic Sales
• Conduct educational activities for counterparts at Japan Airlines to leverage selling skills and market knowledge of outbound business for flight destinations of The Americas
• Effective interaction with respective department i.e. Sales Planning, Marketing, Revenue Management, Corporate Communications of American Airlines and Japan Airlines to maximize business result
• Where agreed with Japan Airlines Account Co-Manage a limited number of accounts which will involve developing and executing highly effective key account plans
• Represent the PJB corporate events and functions as required
• Take initiative in leading Sales Support to execute sales activities for account penetration
• Enhance sales intelligence through respective trainings
• Handle Key Accounts with strategic business manner and train JL counterpart
All you'll need for success
Core Competencies & Skills Required:
• Financial acumen for corporate sales
• Strong market knowledge of the Japanese travel industry
• Travel agency or airline sales experience would be advantageous
• Embrace new project and challenges
• Highly effective communication skills, written & verbal, across all levels of a large matrix organization;
• Highly positive & collaborative team player with proven ability to influence decision making;
• Where required is able to adopt quickly & take direction, is supportive of and takes ownership for driving forward on programs and initiatives;
• Proven skills in developing & implementing strategic key account plans for corporate & TMC accounts that engage all aspects of the commercial relationship;
• Highly self-motivated with a very positive attitude;
• Strong organization / planning, analytical and problem solving skills. Position requires the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously;
• Flexibility and willingness to work outside business hours and at weekends as required;
• Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required;
• Strong computer skills including a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office functionality;
• Fluent communicator in English and Japanese
