Head of Automotive Corporate Communications & PR
Job Purpose:
- This position will drive a fully integrated communications agenda to build, promote and protect Al-Futtaim Automotive’ s reputation and brand image across the globe.
- The role creates, integrates and executes communications programmes to support the division’s business objectives in engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- This key position will report directly to the President of Automotive division
Key Responsibilities:
Public Relations:
- Develop the division’s external relations and PR strategy with a strong focus on social media presence
- Implement, and integrate strategic communication plans that advance the division’s brand identity in global markets.
- Manage the services provided by the approved PR agency and ensure that the right brief and instruction is provided to them for all divisional external platform communications
- Broaden the awareness of Al-Futtaim brand and increase visibility of PR programs and priorities in all markets
Investor Relations:
- Develop investor confidence and belief in the company’s vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value
- Develop a robust investor relations strategy and framework
- Manage equity research and investor relationships
- Provide insights on market activity and present them to the leadership team
- Analyse and present financial trends, competitor behaviour, shareholder issues, and anything else that could impact the business.
- Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters
Media:
- Handle relationships with media and community for enquiries, divisional announcements and press releases across print, broadcast and digital media
- Deliver clear and consistent messages via the media to further promote Al-Futtaim Automotive strategy in alignment with Corp Comms team
- Identify and manage social interactions with Al-Futtaim influencer (needs budget) communities by surrounding them with a dynamic flow of new opinion, commentary and expertise.
- Act as the spokesperson for the division being responsible for creating and maintaining a positive brand image.
- Monitor and facilitate press requests. Other role duties include writing press releases and conducting interviews with the media wherever authorised in line with Group Comms and PR team
Communication Delivery:
- Accountable to establish and direct the formulation of Al-Futtaim Automotive’s divisional communication plans and delivery in order to promote the division, increase awareness, and enhance visibility and reputation, while also supporting the division’s directorates and corporate function’s activities.
- Accountable for the communications principles for all Automotive companies and creating sound business relationships to ensure that these are adhered to (TBC)
- Act as a communications and media subject matter expert for Automotive in alignment with the new businesses, strategy and transformation department, the brands and Group Corporate Communications team to ensure consistency of communication.
Internal Communication-
- Develop the division’s internal communications strategy across channels (incl. but not limited to intranet, newsletter, groups forums and events)
- Ensure division-wide initiatives and transformation projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
- Drive content creation for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as Auto webinars, forums, monthly newsletter
- Ensure important organization wide communication and announcements to be sent by the senior management
External Communications-
- Develop the division’s external relations and PR strategy
- Actively involved in organizing external events and conferences for the division
- Manage the services provided by the approved PR agency and ensure that the right brief and instruction is provided to them for all divisional communications
- Work closely with Govt Relations team to coordinate communications around key national events
Content Creation:
- Responsible for creation of the divison’s content; for example, newsletter, blogs, social influencers, annual reports, and other marketing collateral materials.
- In addition to this, oversees all online web content and communications as well as social media interactions that conforms to the division’s overall values and messages.
Crisis Management:
- Identify emerging issues and trends that could impact Al-Futtaim’s Automotive’ s objectives and mitigate the impact of negative news on the division.
- Focal point for comms related to division wide crisis such as COVID outbreak.
Comms Repository Management:
- Oversee the Auto’s corporate communications information office to maintain a central repository of corporate communications materials to promote awareness regarding all initiatives within the division
Speech Writing:
- Draft remarks, speeches and presentations for President & Auto leaders for internal and external events.
- Write briefings for Presidents & Auto leaders in preparation for media events around the world
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or relevant field.
- 10 or more years of PR & communication experience with the following abilities:
- Media relations strategy
- Corporate transformation communication strategy
- Spokesmanship
- Multiple stakeholder management, both internal and external.
- External and internal events organisation, whether physical events or virtual ones.
- Project management
- Research skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Multi-tasking ability
- Organizational skills
Minimum Experience:
- 10 or more years of PR & communication experience
- Very strong video/digital communication experience
- Excellent command of the English language as the language in which business is conducted within the organisation.
- Knowledge of Arabic and other languages would be an additional asset
