This job is a member of the HRIT Application Support and Development team which is part of the People Technology Department. The business technology analyst’s role will work closely with our project managers, product owners, business leaders, and development team members to deliver application support and business automation solutions for departments within American Airlines. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining IT applications, as well as customization and integration of 3rd party software. Key technologies include SuccessFactors HCM suite of applications (Employee Central, Recruiting Management, Onboarding, PM/GM, and Compensation), Dell Boomi Atomsphere, SAP Cloud Platform, database technologies, and network connectivity standards.
What you'll do
- Provide expertise in implementation planning, fit analysis, testing and rollout for integrations between SuccessFactors HCM (Employee Central and Talent) and other systems
- Supports, maintains, and administers deployed solutions
- Display detailed knowledge of SuccessFactors Employee Central and/or Talent data/functionality to design and implement innovative integrations
- Analyze and identify integration impacts to existing/new business processes
- Implement and present system/integration functionality to technical and non-technical audiences in a precise and clear manner
- Prepare and document requirements, testing, and other related solution artifacts according to enterprise standards
- Maintain detailed knowledge of SuccessFactors product-suite and provide impact analysts for existing integrations
- Define/implement workaround processes, corrective action, communication and system cleanup activities
- Formulate and execute positive and negative unit test plans and assist in developing system regression and performance test plans for enhancements or new releases in the various test and productive environments
- Assist with preparation of training materials for new implementations affecting single or multiple business units
- Track and prioritize work through project management tools such as Planview and Rally
- Gather information, determine alternatives, create requirements, functional/technical specifications, estimate development hours, create technical design to meet defined business needs
- Analyze large subsets of data to identify trends

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 2+ years of SuccessFactors HCM suite experience including Success Factors Admin Tool, Business Execution (BizX), Compensation, Employee Central, customizations using Meta Data Framework (MDF) Cloud/Hybrid integration ( Netweaver PI, Dell Boomi, Hana Cloud Integration) and specifically the Recruiting Management and Onboarding modules.
- Proven ability to translate proposed business processes into correct SAP configuration
- 2+ years of experience defining, analyzing, a documenting user requirements
- Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM
- Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
- Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
- Knowledge of SuccessFactors middleware including Boomi, Hana Cloud Integrations, SuccessFactors integration center and other
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

- 5+ years of SuccessFactors HCM suite experience including Success Factors Admin Tool, Business Execution (BizX), Compensation, Employee Central, customizations using Meta Data Framework (MDF) Cloud/Hybrid integration ( Netweaver PI, Dell Boomi, Hana Cloud Integration) and specifically the Recruiting Management and Onboarding modules.
- Ability to perform Dell Boomi tasks such as, haulting interface schedules, manually triggering processes and editing process properties
- Airline Industry experience
- Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills

- Advanced knowledge of systems flows, engineering documentation, tools, and architecture concepts
- Advanced understanding of business systems and industry requirements, and full technical knowledge of systems analysis
- Understands automated testing, testable requirements, and continuous integration
- Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, HTML, Java Script, and Python preferred
- Ability to work closely with developers and quality assurance teams to create domain models, sequence diagrams, use case diagrams, and operation contracts
- Experience with application administration, systems support, or development preferred
- Experience managing user stories within an Agile software development process
- Experience defining unstructured situations in terms of results and establishing a plan to reach them
- Ability to adapt to unexpected events, new facts, and rapidly changing circumstances
- Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices, with a can-do attitude
- Proficient in MS Office applications and Visio
- Proficient in technical documentation
