  • Responsible for owning strategy and leading a team of sales and marketing professionals that drive revenue, maximize value and innovate the AA Vacations customer experience across our direct advisor and direct consumer channels.

What you'll do

  • Demonstrates American’s leadership attributes of Caring, Collaboration, Development, Results, and Influencing the Future with all team members
  • Owns AA Vacations sales and marketing strategy & execution, including recruiting, motivating, and developing a team of high performing sales and marketing professionals
  • Fosters a customer-centric culture of learning, experimentation, and data-led decisions to advance AA Vacations strategies and understand predictors of consumer and advisor/agency behaviors that drive performance across aavacations.com, including advisor and direct consumer platforms
  • Inspires and builds strategic plans for top advisor/agency accounts and direct consumer channels to drive accountable execution and achieve incremental profitability & revenue outcomes
  • Implements account management best practices, communications and account support process improvement, including quarterly business reviews, customer resolution/escalation and account coverage & commission/marketing fund optimization
  • Develops industry relationships to deeply understand travel advisor and agency motives among individual advisors and senior agency leadership – represent the voice of the customer by collecting market feedback, competitive intelligence, and industry best practices to influence decisions
  • Collaborates with Global Sales, Marketing, RM, Reservations and IT leadership to identify new business opportunities, build consensus and incorporate enterprise-level assets and objectives into AA Vacations’ DNA, including upsell/cross sell, premium, cobrand and loyalty
  • Represents AA Vacations at industry events, including various speaking and panel engagements, lead organization of AA Vacations’ customer events 
  • Must be willing to travel 50%+ for business

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years of related experience in travel industry, including sales, customer-facing or external customer/vendor relationship management responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced degree, MBA or Masters in related field, or currently pursing
  • Prior experience in Global Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Finance, Revenue Management or travel company experience

  • Understands, and is motivated by, what is involved to change the status quo and the art and science of negotiating, internally and externally, to achieve desired outcomes
