  • This job is a member of the Tool Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • ​Responsible for the oversight of assigned tool rooms. Also responsible for improving tool availability by improving processes, compliance, accountability and general preparedness to manage the dynamic lead and system-wide demand for tools. This job also serves as the operational point of contact for their assigned station.

What you'll do

  • Partners with Supply leadership to provide guidance for aircraft tooling serviceability and availability to the customer prior to the scheduled maintenance requirement
  • Coordinates with Supply leadership to maintain overall compliance of assigned supply tool room locations, including kitting
  • Oversight and ownership of legacy inventory systems transactional compliance and tooling serviceability
  • Partners and coordinates closely with Material Planning Tooling, Supply Leadership, MOS Engineering, Supplier Management and Maintenance to resolve tooling issues related to interchangeability, alternates, minor repairs or any additional issues that will impact the airline operation
  • Partners with peers to ensure tooling standardization processes as defined within American Airlines governing documents, including but not limited to GPM, IMDM, GSERs are adhered to
  • Monitors tooling zero stock due to defective tooling, AOG out of the station and calibration by escalation of shortages to Material Planning prior to aircraft need or requirement
  • Resolves tooling discrepancies as reported by local Maintenance to prevent aircraft deferrals, delays or cancellations within the operation
  • Submits, monitors and communicates tooling allocation request forms in support of new tooling or an increase in the current allocation
  • Conducts meetings to inform Supply and Maintenance about new tool allocation, tooling upgrade projects and other related tooling topics
  • Performs routine audits for expired calibrated tooling within assigned stations
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for Airport Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA)
  • Some travel required and must be willing to work extended hours based on operational needs

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 2 years Supply Chain or Aircraft Maintenance operational experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's or Technical degree in related field
  • 2 years working knowledge of the Supply Chain Inventory Systems, SCEPTRE, A&P (airframe and power license) experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of Line and Base Supply Operations
  • Strong ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects
  • Strong ability to communicate, partner and lead various work groups
  • Proactively manage priorities to meet deadlines, identify underlying issues and provide root cause analysis
  • High level of decisiveness, initiative and attention to detail
  • Self-starter who is not afraid to get out into the operation to understand issues and the ability to quickly resolve issues
  • General knowledge of American Airlines GPM, IPC and AMM
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Possess the technical and system expertise required to troubleshoot and diagnose tooling related issues
