This role is critical to the growing Aviation Recruiting team within the People Division. This organization is responsible for hiring the airline’s core aviation roles (ex. pilots) and establishing world-class aviation programs that expose youth to the possibilities of these career paths. This position will be directly responsible for the evolving portfolio of flight training programs designed to develop and support individuals on the journey to become a pilot. This position also supports the broader recruitment team with a range of activities to attract the best talent to the company.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Collaborates with a team of individuals focused on the operational success of the American Airlines Cadet Academy and other burgeoning aviation recruitment programs designed to increase pilot supply and pilot diversity
  • Creatively engages prospective new pilots in discussions related to training and pilot employment opportunities through various media and presentations
  • Identifies new opportunities within the pilot supply market and develop niche AA involvement with organizations who produce qualified program candidates
  • Supports team in screening, tracking, and coordination of the applicant process
  • Designs and administers strategies to advance the success of flight training students
  • Assists in identifying and developing new employment opportunities to support program participants throughout the AAG career path.
  • Provides support to American’s three regional airlines’ pilot recruitment efforts, ensuring a clear pathway to these airlines for AA Cadet Academy pilots
  • Presents accurate, relevant, and timely program data to American Airlines leadership and program partners to drive effective decisions
  • Consistently brings new ideas forward to advance program improvement and sustainment

 

All you'll need for success

 

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of civilian flight training experience
  • 3 years of recruiting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the aviation training industry and demand for critical aviation roles
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Experience in the production and delivery of presentations to large audiences

 

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Knowledge of pilot qualification requirements across all certificates and ratings
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in flight school environment

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the civilian flight training industry and airline pilot demand
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Skills and ability to manage a large database of applicants, assess online applications, schedule, oversee, and conduct interviews
  • Ability to track and report data, as well as communicate effectively with program participants and partners
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
