Senior Research Analyst – IT Services at IDC – UAE
Job Description:
- Analyze market trends in the telecom industry in areas such as fixed and mobile voice and data services, 4G/5G, carrier network transformation, SDN/NFV, cloud, mobility, the Internet of Things (IoT), etc.
- Conduct interviews and secondary research on the topics, consolidate the findings and develop insights
- Develop market data models based on the research to quantitively track market size and shares of the players within and generate forecasts.
- Develop thought leadership on emerging technologies such as 5G, SDN/NFV, IoT to name a few.
- Author reports on the latest telecom and IT trends and contribute to custom research projects on an ad-hoc basis.
- Speak / present at client workshops on key technology market trends and developments.
Job Requirements:
Education:
A Master’s degree from a reputed university with strong academic record at all levels.
Relevant Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in the ICT sector, ideally with telecommunication providers or telecom consulting firms or telecom technology providers, with experience in strategy/planning or product/service management, consulting, or market intelligence roles.
Technical Knowledge/ Skills/ Training required:
- Good understanding of the telecommunications and IT services industry in the Middle East region.
- A passion for technology and a natural inclination to follow, analyze and comment on latest trends and developments.
- Strong research and analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Strong data modelling and analysis skills.
- Ability to work in a very agile and highly collaborative environment.
Excellent English communication skills – oral, written and presentation skills. - High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and similar software
