About The Job

American Airlines Corporate Tax Department is seeking a highly-motivated Property & Transaction Tax Analyst. The primary responsibility of this role is to be a team member of the Corporate Tax Team with 1 or more years of experience in property tax and transaction tax reporting.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Preparation of multistate property tax returns;
  • Gathering and analysis of data used for property tax returns;
  • Reconcile tax bills and GL accounts, prepares tax payments and makes appropriate journal entries;
  • Research transaction tax issues;
  • Interpret and comply with state and local statutes, regulations, and legislation;
  • Assist with the reconciliation of general ledger accounts;
  • Prepare for, and assist with, tax audits;
  • Assist with prepare of transaction tax returns for monthly, quarterly and annual filings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
  • One to four years transaction tax experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to deliver on tight timelines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills utilizing available resources
  • Able to analyze and review statutes, regulations, and case law, as well as extract data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Able to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment both within the department as well as outside of the department
