Location: New Cairo

Job Description:

• Checks cable laying and cable identification.
• Performs all relevant loop checks.
• Updates as built drawings.
• Performs punch-listing operations.
• Checks power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet, lighting system.
• Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection.
• Performs tests of continuity, insulation resistance.
• Calibrates safety valves.
• Calibrates instruments.
• Checks installation of instruments.
• Performs tests functional instruments.
• Checks pneumatic signal connection.
• Checks fiber optic cable.
• Performs test communication functionalities.
• Verifies special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications.
• Witnesses the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
• Ensures corrective & preventive measures are fully implemented.
• Spots potential quality improvement areas
• Continues alignment for Giza engineering quality activities with industry best practices.
• Checks conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtains the relevant documentation, checks procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manages documents and certifies tests, controls and inspections.
• Produces quality control reports, incident reports, quality improvement plans.
• Retains Quality Control Library & Giza Knowledge management base updated with In-Progress and completed quality control activities/artifacts/documents & reports.
• Leverages the quality control culture by conducting quality awareness sessions for the engineering/technical employees’ on regular basis.

Job Requirements:

Personal Skills

• Very good communications and interpersonal skills
• Excellent English and Arabic Business and Technical writing skills.

Technical Skills

• Previous testing and commissioning experience.
• Previous exposure to high& medium voltage electrical installation
including switchgear and electric drives
• Exposure to Hazardous Area installations
• Instrument calibrations including ultrasonic flow meter, level
transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters etc.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to electrical installation and testing (ANSI, ASTM, BS, NACE, NETA, IEC IEEE, IS, NEMA)
• Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work
• Hazardous Area installation and inspection experience is an advantage
• Very good knowledge about measurements, instrumentation,
valves and Fire & Gas.
• PLC & SCADA knowledge.
• Quality Control experience.

Education

• Bachelor of Engineering with a specialization in Electrical / communications Engineering
