About You
You are to represent IKEA brand at the required level and maintain store standards to the required level.
What's more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:
- Live and share the IKEA values every day
- Higher School / Trade School Graduate.
- 7 - 10 years’ experience as a carpenter.
- Finishing Carpentry, metal work and painting, wall and floor covering, electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Good written and verbal English
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
About the Position
We are currently looking for a Carpenter for our new Store at Dubai Festival Plaza. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for all the technical work in the store, repair of merchandise and store assets and in the proper maintenance of showroom furniture and fixtures, as directed by the Com-In Manager.
Key specific accountabilities:
- Be responsible for undertaking and carrying out the company’s carpentry works such as painting, building walls, ceilings, tiling, plastering, drilling on concrete and other maintenance requirements as outlined by the workshop Coordinator and/ or Com-in Manager.
- Upon authorization, carry out in as efficient manner, the most professional, quality level work possible to project the proper image of Al Futtaim as well as IKEA, and protect or improve the assets of the company.
- Assist the Interiors designer as required during store remodeling or the catalogue launch planning, in his particular field of expertise. He will schedule and complete the Interior designer’s needs to meet deadlines.
- Liaise with the Workshop Coordinator and / or Com-In Manager to determine the scope of routine maintenance required. He will carry out the work as required.
- On all work to be performed, a list of materials and equipment, when required, will be drawn up by the job holder and to be submitted to the Workshop Coordinator.
- Be responsible for the setting up or dismantling of store and back office fixtures, as well as for their maintenance and repair.
- Repair damaged merchandise when necessary and assists in providing technical assistance to customers as and when required.
