This job is a member of the Corporate Real Estate Team within the Corporate Affairs Division. Responsible for the design and construction management oversight of complex corporate facilities primarily at JFK, but also includes LGA, EWR and BOS, in strict accordance with approved corporate space standards, schedules and budgets, and that meet all requirements of the user groups.
Specifically, you'll do the following:
- Develop project scope and/or definition documents
- Work with multiple user groups and internal departments to establish project program
- Prepare and manage procurement process for projects
- Create internal funding documents and consultants service request forms
- Create project estimates, budgets and schedules
- Create design and construction documents
- Oversee technical direction of project architects, engineers and consultants involved in assigned projects to ensure that all program requirements are meet within budget and time constraints
- Provide written and verbal project status reports
- Represent the best interest of the company at public meetings regarding departmental affairs
- Manage direct reports
- Ability to travel
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
- 10 years of experience in design, planning, development and management of airport facility construction projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with airport master plan projects
- Prior experience in aviation construction and facilities development
- Knowledge of architectural and engineering construction documents, contracts and commercial real estate
- Ability to think strategically and understand the business need for each project
- Ability to make ongoing decisions based on the best results for the company
- Ability to anticipate upcoming problems and avoid them to preserve project's intent, schedule and budget
- Ability to handle large and complex projects requiring multi phased approach and or projects that are fast-tracked
- Ability to work with diversified user groups
- Ability to manage direct reports
