Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Aircraft Lease Management Director is the sole subject matter expert and innovator in the active management and the eventual return of Alaska Airlines' significant portfolio of leased Airbus aircraft. This role is responsible for ensuring the lowest possible cost is achieved while meeting contractual obligations. The Aircraft Lease Management Director will report to the Senior Vice President of Fleet, Finance and Alliances and will be a valued consultant to the executive team for aircraft leases. . Scope & Complexity As an individual contributor, this role discovers organizational challenges, creates methodologies and solutions, influences the organization to develop and adopt a sustainable strategy for aircraft leases. Key Duties - Identify opportunities and pioneer solutions to build a long-term competitive advantage in aircraft leasing and return condition obligations. - Bring new and inventive ideas about the lease market to maximize points of leverage. - Define long-term strategy and processes for Alaska Airlines' leased fleet. - Influence senior leaders across the company and provide strategic recommendations on maintaining and returning our fleet of leased aircraft. - Manage a "virtual team" of representatives from Fleet, Network Planning, Maintenance, Supply Chain, FP&A, Legal and Accounting. - Maintain an expert level knowledge of aircraft leases, including contractual compliance with lease provisions, return-condition obligations and payments required per terms of contract. - Influence leaders in Maintenance to ensure that work performed (and timing of such work) is optimized to ensure lowest cost return obligations as well as maximize reserve recovery. - Know the current and potential portfolios of businesses with current lessors to identify leverage-creating opportunities. - Design industry-leading solutions to extension or early termination alternatives as strategy to minimize return costs yet do so in a way that helps Network achieve planned growth. - Represent the company with lessor representatives to negotiate returns settlement with lessors. - Cultivate and manage overall relationships with aircraft lessors. - Advise the CFO and SVP, Fleet and Finance as required on ad hoc matters and with special projects. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - A minimum of 15 years of contract management or related experience, with at least 5 years of aircraft lease management experience. - Bachelor's degree with a focus in Business, or an additional two years of experience in lieu of this degree. - Strong business acumen. - Familiarity with aircraft operations. - Ethical beyond reproach. - A tenacious attention to detail in both reporting and contract awareness and compliance. - Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across business units and communicate with others in the executive group, board members, and investors professionally and efficiently. - Detail-oriented, with a passion for "getting it right" under high pressure and with tight timelines. - Ability to motivate, mentor, and positively develop employees in the Treasury group by being approachable, responsive, and supportive, ultimately creating a positive atmosphere. - Ability to convey a strong executive presence and professional image. - Must have a "bias toward action", a demonstrated ability to get things done, and a conviction to make changes and improvements that are good for the business in the short and long-term. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - A track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts - Familiarity with airline industry Job-Specific Leadership Expectations - Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. - Proven ability to leverage business acumen and analytic capability to position the organization as a critical business partner. - Ability to engage with and establish credibility with business partners at the most senior/executive level. **START YOUR NEW JOURNEY NOW** Submit your application by 09/12/2019 11:59pm (Pacific Time).
