Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to the HR Business Partner team by helping to solve employee relations issues, lead and resolve employee investigations, interpret policies and procedures, as well as provide general support for compensation, job analysis and organizational development. Scope & Complexity - This position supports human resources activities for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries. Key Duties - Executes strategies and deliverables as assigned by Business Partner or HR leaders. - Provides support and guidance to employee and managers in the resolution of employee relations issues. - Partners with Managers, Legal, Labor and Union Representatives, and Business Partners to solve issues or to escalate to an investigation if appropriate. - Completes thorough investigations including researching, assessing, report writing, and suggestions for resolution. - Fields questions and helps interpret policies and procedures. - Resolves performance issues for employees below the manager level. - Analyzes root causes of issues and recommends solutions to solve problems. - Monitors and analyzes data about employee trends. - Develops recommendations and solutions when trends are identified. - Partners with HR Business Partners on job support (e.g., job descriptions, job offer analysis, changes to jobs). - Provides operational and transactional support to the HR Business Partner team and leaders. - Participates on project teams or HR teams as needed or for development purposes. - Works closely with HR Business Partners and HR Managers to develop and grow capabilities. - Fills in as interim coverage for HRBPs as needed. Job-Specific Skills (years of experience, key knowledge, skills & abilities) - A minimum of 3 years of relevant human resources experience is required. - Knowledge of employment law and employee relations is required. - Knowledge of federal/state laws relevant to Ethics, Compliance and Risk Management preferred. - General knowledge of performance management, employee practices, compensation, benefits and rewards. - A proven ability to work independently and to prioritize competing priorities. - Advanced knowledge of laws and regulations related to leave and disability programs is preferred. Education - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
