JOB PURPOSE:

The basic responsibilities of this job role are to provide world class customer service experience and generate maximum sales while maintaining highest sales floor standards and for a variety of operational duties as assigned by the store management team from time to time.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Specify the output required from the job. Identify not more than 7 Key Accountabilities & their performance indicators. NB-Focus on outcomes not tasks.

Description:

  • Maintaining highest sales floor standards by product displays & visual merchandising standards
  • Participates in and attends all store daily briefings,  meetings and other related functions
  • Represents a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand and the company
  • Participates in all inventory counts
  • Assumes and completes other duties as assigned by store management.
  • Meets or exceeds weekly sales targets
  • Satisfactorily completes all duties as assigned by management
  • Is punctual and adheres to designated work schedule
  • Is flexible and works well with peers and management to accomplish duties
  • Fully adheres to company policies & procedures
  • Creates a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adhering to dress code
  • Greets customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non business like greeting
  • Provides customers with current relevant product information and encourages them to purchase
  • Provides quality service in the fitting rooms, follows up with customers in a timely manner, maintains cash wrap cleanliness and attempts to add on to the sale about the product
  • Provides efficient service at the cash wrap, offers gift cards, maintains cash wrap cleanliness and captures customer information in the database
  • Sincerely thanks all customers for shopping at M&S as they exit the store, and invites them back.

 

 

JOB CONTEXT: Define organizational policy and other factors that have a critical impact on the job.

 

 

The Sales Associate should have a friendly and engaging personality and be comfortable with working with members of the general public.  They should be confident, helpful and polite and be physically fit as they will be on their feet for most of the day and be required to life stock.  They should have a comprehensive understanding of the areas of sales they are working in: i.e. retail, fast moving stock, consumer good, fashion, etc.  Most importantly they should be able to work as part of a sales team.   

 

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: High School Degree

Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of retail sales experience

 

Job-Specific Skills:   Good verbal communication skills, Some heavy lifting, Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours,

 

Behavioral Competencies : An eye for fashion trends & Friendly
