Workshop Foreman - Volvo Construction Equipment - FAMCO Al Futtaim - Dubai
The job holder is responsible for ensuring optimum utilization of the available workshop labour and resources to achieved set operational efficiency targets. The role involves ensuring the team carries out vehicle repair and service activities in accordance to established quality, safety and efficiency guidelines and within set time frames.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
Experience in use of MS Office applications.
Knowledge in SAP service Module.
Minimum Experience:
• At least 5-8 years of experience in the Volvo construction equipment/Doosan air compressor Service Industry out of which minimum 4 years in a Supervisory role preferably in Volvo construction equipment.
Job-Specific Skills:
• Good communicator in English; Arabic an advantage
• UAE Driving License is a must
• Sound technical knowledge in vehicle diagnosis and repair
• Knowledge of technical software
• Ability to think analytically
• Planning and organizing
Duties:
Prepares the team for the upcoming job and allocates job cards to them to align the jobs to the skills set and efficiency level and maximize through put in timely manner.
Achieve the budgeted Monthly/Yearly revenue.
Improving and promoting service contracts with new / existing Volvo customers with the objective of maximizing profits and customer satisfaction.
Ensure Monthly over dues are not more than agreed target.
Implement new ideas/systems to ensure proper workshop layout, workshop loading, equipment maintenance, and facility utilization that creates an efficient and customer focused environment.
Implementing VOLVO quality standards as stipulated and overviewed by Volvo from time to time.
Ensure technical training support to all technicians to ensure the Fix it Right ratio is maximize
Specifying correct tooling and equipment for the service and repair of the complete range of Volvo machines sold.
Continuously training the employees in terms of latest technical developments, new equipment, new products and/or improving productivity and efficiency.

Ensuring that AFM Standards are adhered to by the Service department in all transactions with the customer
Ensure the implementation of QMS & HSE policy in workplaces.
Monitor the Technician service vehicles utilization.
Reviews pre-order forms (Parts proforma) to confirm parts requirements are well matched with the issue on hand and guaranteed to fix the problem
Ensures quality checks are done on finished jobs by the technicians
Monitors warranty jobs to ensure the team follows the set warranty guidelines. This includes reviewing job cards and other documentation to justify warranty claims and facilitate smooth processing
Reviews workshop figures, such as hours sold, hours worked versus idle hours to monitor progress of operational targets. This includes preparing reports for management discussions.
Finalize the job cards as per the SOP with necessary documentation.
