We’re a multidisciplinary UX team who drives the user experience for our customer and employee facing applications. In this position, you’ll work within a cross-functional team where you’ll influence product and design decisions with ownership of projects from inception through development.

What you'll do

This job is a member of the User Experience (UX) and Digital Customer Experience team within the Marketing & Loyalty group. ​The Digital Content Editor is one of the key players on our team; managing daily requests for content edits, marketing placements and translations delivered through all digital channels, print, consumer and B2B marketing.

 

Additional duties and responsibilities:

  • Master our digital brand standards and apply it to all content on aa.com
  • Edit pages in a Content Management System (CMS) using pre-defined templates
  • Support content on our global sites using automated translation tools
  • Collaborate with internal partners to meet the needs of the business
  • Create and maintain marketing placements on the homepage and throughout the site
What you'll do (continued)
  • Continuously monitor aa.com for outdated content and broken links
  • Write and edit digital content that meets project goals and end user needs for complex efforts
  • Champion American’s lexicon, voice and brand standards across all digital channels
  • Deploy content from various content management systems
  • Perform content localization and translation using automated translation tools
  • Review translation work for accuracy, completeness and that it meets brand tone and voice and is appropriate for all global markets
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends and late nights, for publishing alerts resulting from weather delays/cancellations or other operational issues
  • Other duties which are consistent with the position
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or English, or equivalent experience / training
  • 2 – 3 years of working within a CMS and editing / writing concise, web / mobile friendly copy for a major global brand and high traffic / transactional website
  • Knowledge and understanding of web principles like  SEO, Accessibility, Analytics and HTML (basics)

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Localization, Language, International Studies, or equivalent experience / training
  • 5+ years of working within a CMS and editing / writing / translating concise, web / mobile friendly copy
  • Travel industry experience or general knowledge of the airline industry

  • Experience mentoring and coaching a geographically dispersed team of editors and translate

  • Experience mentoring and coaching a geographically dispersed team of editors and translators preferred
  • Working knowledge of content strategy preferred
  • Project management experience within a marketing or digital environment preferred
