Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Senior Enterprise System Engineer takes a holistic view of all the Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air enterprise systems. This role gathers input, provides direction, and makes decisions to ensure our infrastructure fits within our vision. This Sr. Engineer closely partners with different groups within IT as well as business customers to clearly understand their requirements, implements technology solutions and owns the resulting system. In addition, this position communicates the status of corporate and/or divisional initiatives. The Sr. Engineer demonstrates advanced skills in leadership, project management, hardware/software architecture & best practices, computer security & compliance, and enterprise architectures. The role owns a critical infrastructure technology and is a subject matter expert in at least 5 infrastructure systems. Finally, the Senior Engineer is responsible for maintaining the vision and overall strategic direction for enterprise infrastructure systems. Scope & Complexity The Senior Enterprise System Engineer is the sole subject matter expert in ensuring the alignment of IT infrastructure systems with company goals and initiatives. As an individual contributor, this role defines the long-term strategy and supports complex systems engineering activities for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Key Duties - Defines the long-term strategy and vision of our technology systems in partnership with Enterprise Architecture - Function as a lead for cross divisional enterprise infrastructure projects - Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture to manager our forward-looking strategies and roadmaps align - Researches, develops and communicates system roadmaps, opportunities and constraints to IT as well as the business - Represents the team and leadership at division, business and project meetings - Possesses and displays expert skills in the following areas: technical troubleshooting, customer service, communication, thought leadership and project management - Owns vendor relationships (responsible for maintaining the relationship and reporting the status directly to senior leadership) - Owns at least two core infrastructure technologies: Active Directory, Identity Management, DNS, Ping Identity (PingAccess, PingFederate, PingID), Certificate Management, Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc.), Load Balancing, Linux and Windows Servers, Security & Compliance Standards, etc. - Pursues industry leading certifications and training - Holds team members accountable for enterprise best practices - Participates in the team on-call rotation. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - 7 years of documented IT experience, with at least 4 years of technical engineering experience - A Bachelor's degree with a focus in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree - Advanced knowledge of the following: - Enterprise datacenter technologies - Microsoft Active Directory - Identity Management solutions - Windows server operating systems - Single Sign-On technologies (SAML, OAuth 2.0) - Previous experience deploying Identity Systems in a complex production environment, such as implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution - High school diploma or equivalent - Minimum age of 18 - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Professional certification in an applicable technology or project management discipline - In-depth knowledge and experience supporting enterprise solutions - In-depth knowledge of server virtualization technologies - In-depth knowledge of DNS services - Implemented projects involving enterprise hardware and/or software technologies - Knowledge of networking concepts (advanced networking/switching/routing) - Professional certification in an applicable technology or project management discipline - Proven experience providing strong leadership in a number of enterprise systems - Experience providing status of projects to senior members of the leadership team - Prior vendor management experience (responsible for maintaining the relationship and reporting the status directly to senior leadership) - Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills Job-Specific Leadership Expectations Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY** Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are equal opportunity employers.
