Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Powerplant Planner is a subject matter expert in developing and managing the complex engine powerplant planning at Alaska Airlines (AS). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in forecasting model and managing third party suppliers in delivery of engine maintenance services and provides recommendations to address business challenges or problems in area of expertise. Scope & Complexity This individual contributor guarantees the development of the comprehensive engine maintenance plan, assist with the evaluation and selection of third-party engine maintenance providers, manage communications with both internal and external resources to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of engine maintenance services. Key Duties - Develops both tactical and long-range plans for scheduled engine removals, effective utilization of spare engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). - Facilitates third party vendor services, communicates and coordinates with leasing entities, internal communications and coordination, managing wing-to-wing logistics and ensures performance for third party suppliers involved with the delivery of engine maintenance service. - Manages the execution of engine plans for the year tracking plan performance and operational effectiveness. - Coordinates planned engine removals with other maintenance plans, Powerplant Engineering, Line and Vendor Maintenance, the Engine Build-Up Shop, and the engine and APU repair vendors. - Plans and schedules borescopes, inspections, and other time-controlled engine events. - Administers the scheduling of Engineering Controls (ECs), Airworthiness Directives, and Technical Service Requests (TSRs) for engines and APUs. - Manages, schedules, coordinates and plans third party vendors visits / induction slots. Monitors vendor turnaround time performance and coordinates engine logistics. - Coordinates the tear down and build-up of engines and APUs with the Engine Build-Up Shop as well as use of leased engines and APUs, monitoring their time in service and planning for their removal and return. - Develops reports as required for the ongoing management of the maintenance program. - Maintains knowledge of TRAX functions as they pertain to the planning environment and maintain and update forecasts in respect to the duty assignment. -Other job duties as assigned. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - A minimum 4 years' experience in maintenance planning. - Bachelor?s degree in related field, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of degree. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Experience using TRAX, Tableau, or other data management tools. - Airframe & Powerplant certificate Job-Specific Leadership Expectations Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. **START YOUR NEW JOURNEY NOW** Submit your application by 11/11/2019 11:59pm (Pacific Time).
