Commitment: 6-7-month term January-August or June-December

Locations: Technical Operations Facilities in Tulsa, OK, Charlotte, NC, and Fort Worth, TX

Responsibilities:

Entry level Engineering duties within the following departments. Typically, the assigned department manager pairs each Co-Op with a mentor.

  • Fleet Engineering - this department maintains and supports aircraft systems, structures, interiors, avionics, and inflight entertainment maintenance programs including repair, assembly, inspection and modification of aircraft and component parts. Fleet Engineers develop maintenance programs and specifications, investigate reliability problems, and design/develop corrective actions and programs. Engineers also provide technical interface with manufacturers and suppliers regarding repairs, design, improvements, and new equipment requirements.
  • Powerplant Engineering - this department maintains and supports maintenance programs for aircraft turbine engines including repair, assembly, inspection, and test of engines, component parts, and accessories. Powerplant Engineers determine economic feasibility, develop repairs and repair processes of existing unserviceable turbine engine hardware. These Engineers will handle failure analysis, repair development, scrap review, engineering research, technical and economic decisions related to repair and maintenance of turbine engines and components.
Job Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate Engineering degree program. Engineering majors considered include: Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Metallurgical and Civil Engineering.
  • Successful completion of sophomore year or approximately 60 hours towards a Bachelor Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5.
  • Eligibility to work permanently in the United States.
  • Passing of a drug screen and background check provided by AA.
  • Availability for two work cycles (or at least 3 semesters) is preferred.
