About You

 

You have the ability to prioritise and organize own work in order to make the most efficient use of time available. You have the ability to work in a fast retail environment. You are driven to exceed goals and possess a desire to improve ways of working. You have interest for home furnishing, people life at home, and the IKEA range.

 

What’s more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:

  • Live and share the IKEA values every day.
  • Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Interior Designing or Architecture.
  • Carpentry experience gained in a commercial business, ideally in the construction, fit out, building industry or exhibition installations, retail and home furnishing experience. 

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Proven ability to visualise, design and communicate home furnishing and retail solutions. 

  • Attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics

  • Proven commitment to high quality execution within limited time frames

  • Confident in approaching and communicating clearly with different people in various situations.

 

 

About the role

 

You are responsible for maintaining the work flow between the interior designers, visual merchandisers and the handymen and electricians.

 

Key Specific Accountabilities:

Commercial

  • Ensure the smooth operation of daily workshops.
  • Coordinate the jobs carried out in the store during the activities acting as liaison between the carpenters and the interior designers, visual Merchandisers, Graphics, and Activity teams.
  • Make daily check in the store for any damage in the display products, and fix it.
  • Arrange and clean up the areas that been decorated after finishing the job.
  • Plan and order materials and resources and ensure costs are accurate and agreed.

 

People Management & Development

  • Ensure that Handymen & Electrician have receive the necessary training in safety and security aspects related to the use of hard equipment so they are able to follow the rules and regulations and prevent accidents.
  • Be involved in the recruitment of the handymen & electricians; ensure the vacancies are filled as soon as they arise and the right candidates are hired in the vacant positions.
  • Ensure positive results in the employee survey and taking action in the areas where the satisfaction is low.
