JOB PURPOSE:

Credit Risk Analyst will support the risk management of Captive Finance and In-house Finance (IHF) Credit Risk Assessment functions. The person will be responsible for the analytics, reporting and underwriting (for a subset of loan requests) for credit risk portfolio across the Al Futtaim Group.  

 

The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Support and lead the creation of a Credit Risk Infrastructure for credit portfolio of Al Futtaim Automotive Group
  • Support in development of a Credit Risk Framework (Risk Policy Guidelines, Annual renewal Program, Portfolio Credit Management, Risk Process) for all segments (within UAE) and international markets
  • Create Risk reporting dashboards for all segments and countries
  • Establish risk controls for business processes and identifies key metrics
  • Proactively monitor key credit risk metrics relating to: product, channel, exceptions and vintage performance
  • Document performance versus risk profiles and thresholds
  • Recommend changes to credit policies and limits
  • Develop and support analytical framework to ensure integrity of underwriting processes
  • Train & Develop sales and operations staff in diverse aspects of the credit policy
  • Manage delinquencies and default for portfolio
  • Team leadership, staff motivation, development and support
  • Lead Support in development of any technological solution

Performance Indicators

Developing  Risk Infrastructure & Framework  

  • Assess, create and develop a Lending and Risk Management framework for all customer segments within UAE and IHF markets
  • Develop risk process and strategies for ensuring Risk criteria is adopted and implemented at each business segment level / country level
  • Monitor and interpret local regulations of lending for Auto in particular
  • Develop the Credit Policy / Underwriting & Collection Management guidelines
  • Understanding internal group dynamics and dimension and developing strong value proposition
  • Initiate, coordinate and recommend action plans to mitigate anticipated risk  

 

 

 

Review and release updated versions of Credit policy for all segments and Markets

 

Country-wise specific risk policies with clearly defined risk renewal program

 

Country wise Risk SOPs for credit underwriting

 

Risk Management & Reporting

  • Underwrite Credit Cases
  • Prepare Credit Risk reports
  • Support Risk Reporting for all customer segments
  • Manage annual risk review / policy review and portfolio thresholds
  • Ensure the understanding and acceptance of Risk criteria and KPIs at each level
  • Implement and monitor Credit Delegation framework in line with Group Risk requirement
  • Regular process of Risk reporting for all segments and markets
  • Create and manage training program for enhancing capabilities and improved risk decision making
  • Support development of Technology Infrastructure including deployment of IT system and support in its development / enhancement

Governance, Control, and Risk

  • Deep understanding of Auto financing in GCC
  • Understand technical/regulatory matters affecting the business. The ultimate responsibility for the continuing compliance and use of such matters
  • Ensure Governance, Compliance, Risk, and Control are implemented and adhered to meet Group Standards
  • Any new regulatory or Group requirements are implemented and reviewed throughout the unit in a timely fashion

 

 

Risk Dashboards in all regulated matters

 

Market feedback and protecting the AFG/ group companies from any form of Reputational Risk

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • In-depth understanding and extensive related experience (min 5 years) in the management of Credit Risk for Consumer Finance. Experience in Auto Financing/fleet Financing is preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Any regional role in Risk / Analytics and reporting is preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the  ability to influence and interact with senior management
  • Strong work ethic, ability to make decisions and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills with specialization in risk analytics
  • Expertise in Risk Technology and Credit Lending systems
  • Ability to analyze company financials and market conditions
  • Proven track record in project management and coordination/integration efforts across multiple groups
  • A proven successful record of accomplishment of tasks at the Analyst level
  • Management experience in a multi-cultural environment
  • Understanding of local regulations related to Consumer Banking
  • Ability to travel freely across GCC and East Africa is required
