  • ​This job is a member of the Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • ​Responsible for performing routine and ad hoc laboratory tests on chemicals and materials used in transport category aircraft maintenance/repair as directed by Engineering staff. Principle areas of focus are preparation of coupons for metallographic analysis, engine oil testing and lab support of failure analysis projects.
What you'll do
  • ​Prepares (cut, mount, grind, polish) thermal spray coupons for metallographic examination
  • Prepares and tests thermal spray tensile plugs
  • Performs testing of engine and APU oil for contaminants and report results to Engineering
  • Manages supplies associated with routine and ad hoc testing
  • Maintains status of calibrated equipment in the lab using in-house tracking system
  • Communicates with calibration lab and resolve issues as required
  • Accomplishes any other lab related tests or functions as directed by Engineering staff
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency or equivalent experience/training
  • 1 year laboratory testing or related experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Associates or Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry or Bachelor's Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree
  • 2 years laboratory testing or related experience
  • Experience with TruChem, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • ​Experience in the aviation industry

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to adjust work plans based on priority
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Must have the ability to read, follow, initiate and revise chemical and metallographic test and preparation specifications and procedures
