  • ​Responsible for providing leadership and vision related to card products and payments solutions for the Payments Department at American Airlines Credit Union.
What you'll do
  • Ensures the credit union successfully leverages new payments technologies
  • Encourages a culture of innovation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in order to effectively and efficiently meet members’ payments needs, capture market opportunities and increase AACU’s credit card loan portfolio, debit card usage and active checking accounts
  • Analyzes, develops, recommends and implements solutions which support business strategies as well as meet business and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates effectively across all levels and departments to drive business strategy, implement product solutions and enhance service delivery
  • Creates efficiencies within the Payments & Digital Strategy department through process improvements and implementing effective risk mitigation programs
    Leads and develops teams consisting of over 30 payment, product origination and digital strategy team members
  • Fosters a positive work environment
  • Exercises effective revenue growth & cost control by executing and developing budgets
  • Oversees project plans, vendor roadmaps and implementations
  • Manages competing priorities successfully and directs resources and organizational communications as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, as well as five to seven years’ experience of increasing responsibility in managing payments and digital banking
    Must pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master's degree
  • Experience collaborating with third party partners/vendors to successfully accomplish business goals

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of financial products and services, credit cards and payments/mobile banking
  • Ability to demonstrate passion for the Credit Union’s vision and purpose
  • Skilled in leading, managing, developing and motivating a team
  • Ability to demonstrate superior people management and employee engagement skills, to include directing, coaching, counseling and motivating staff
  • Ability to successfully implement new products and services with strong project management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong business analytics and decision making capabilities
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills & exercise effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen, technical learning/innovation management and a drive for results
  • Ability to be highly efficient, organized and motivated and have the ability to lead multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ability to identify and implement strategy in a digital environment
  • Ability to demonstrate abstract reasoning, critical thinking and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to demonstrate proficient presentation and communication skills
