Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Associate Leave of Absence Specialist solves leaves of absence logistics for employees at Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on processing leaves of absence information and pay for employees in compliance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA), policies and the department?s standard operating procedures. Key Duties - Solves employee issues related to leave logistics and pay. - Focuses on ensuring accurate and timely processing of leaves and pay for employees per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, polices and the department?s standard operating procedures. Follows established procedures, researches complicated matters and leverages CBA expertise to provide excellent customer service to internal customers. - Researches and resolve leave and payroll questions, including driving resolution with other teams, escalating more complex issues to more senior specialists. - Communicates clearly and confidently with union leaders on employee pay focused contractual requirements. - Identifies and provides input on process improvements within the team and with other departments including IT, crew planning, crew scheduling and payroll. - Participates in cross team meetings, serving as a point of contact for leave and payroll processes, and the collective bargaining agreement. - Defines and documents internal processes and workflows and ensures they are kept up to date. - Compiles and publishes team metrics. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - Bachelor's degree with a focus in business, accounting, finance, labor or related discipline, or 2 years of experience in accounting, payroll, auditing, data analysis or related area in lieu of this degree. - Ability to focus on details with demonstrated accuracy and analytical skills. - Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. - Excellent time management skills and the ability to focus under pressure to meet strict production deadlines. - Ability to dissect current processes, identify inefficiencies and promote change. - Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel, (including formulas & graphs), MS Outlook and MS SharePoint. - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Expertise in labor contract pay applications.
